BE HUNGER FREE IN THE D!
We believe that when hunger is satisfied, people are empowered. Eradicating hunger helps people do the very best for themselves, their family, and our community.
News/Talk 760 WJR and the Celani Family Foundation need your help to make The D hunger free. For just $10, you can provide 60 kids with breakfast and lunch ... TODAY!
Are you ready to make a difference?
A portion of the proceeds from Hunger Free in The D benefits Detroit's Capuchine Soup Kitchen. Inspired by St. Francis of Assisi, the Capuchine's tend to people's basic needs, especially the need for food. They also strive to stimulate minds, nourish spirits, and address root causes of social injustice.
Hunger Free in The D in part benefits Gleaner's Food Bank, a Detroit-based organization that operates five massive food distribution centers across our region. All totaled, Gleaner's distributes 96,000 meals each day, with 171,000 children receiving nourishing food and nutrition education each year.
The Celani Family Foundation was formed by Tom and Vicki Celani as a charity dedicated to addressing the needs of youth and fighting hunger. Eforts include the Cars and Cigars Smoke Detroit fundraiser, as well as the Hunger Free in the D radiothon. Combined, these two events have raised over $4-million in donations.
